Some watches follow seasons. The Classic doesn't. The sunburst-finished brass dial, the applied index markers and the polished case are not design decisions that will look dated in a year – that's deliberate. The Classic is made for people who know that well-designed things need no explanation.
The off-centre seconds
The most striking detail is the position of the seconds display: not at the centre, but on a separate sub-dial. That's a classic design decision from watchmaking tradition – it gives the dial more calm and separates the running second from the actual time display. Anyone who knows watches appreciates it. Anyone who sees it for the first time wonders why not every watch looks like this.
Case and materials
42.5 mm diameter, 7.5 mm slim – narrow enough for a shirt sleeve, present enough for an evening. The polished 316L steel case is hypoallergenic and corrosion-resistant. Water resistance to 5 ATM: rain and hand washing are no issue. The sapphire-hardened mineral glass with inner anti-reflective coating protects against scratches and remains readable even in direct light.
The movement
Inside sits the Miyota 1L45 – a Japanese quartz movement with ±20 seconds per month and around three years of battery life. Precise, low-maintenance, no effort. The Classic is a watch where the design is front of mind – the movement does its job reliably in the background.
Who is The Classic right for?
For anyone who wants a watch that works with a button-down shirt just as well as an evening look – without having to think twice. The Classic is the most elegant model in the range, but doesn't carry that claim loudly. Polished case, sunburst dial, off-centre seconds – if you know the details, you know what you're wearing.
The strap
The vegetable-tanned leather strap is the most natural choice – it reinforces the classic character of the watch and pairs well with a considered look. The mesh strap gives The Classic slightly more lightness and everyday versatility. The steel-link bracelet emphasises the elegance of the polished case. All straps swap tool-free.
